The new transport tariffs set in relation to the increase in fuel prices are already provoking strong reactions among drivers in Port-au-Prince. Some drivers operating the Poste-Marchand/Carrefour Airport circuit have observed a work stoppage to protest against the cost of this circuit, which is set at 25 gourdes. Officials of public transport unions say they have noted anomalies in the new rates for regular circuits, believing that they have not been well calculated.
