Cholera : Opening of a CTC for women and children The inhabitants of Cité Soleil are facing problems of poverty, food insecurity, access to quality health care, malnutrition among children under 5 and the resurgence of cholera. UNICEF supported the Center Hospitalier Fontaine in the opening of a Cholera Treatment Center (CTC) for the care of children and women in Cité Soleil. Les Cayes : Seizure of a tanker truck and arrest After the seizure by the Government Commissioner of Les Cayes, Me Ronald Richemond, of a tank truck belonging to the trader Samuel Edma, the latter has just been arrested and placed in police custody for having refused to sell his fuel at the price fixed by the Government, reported the Chief of the Public Prosecutor's Office who said he was on the trail of two other empty tank trucks stored not far from the Antoine Simon airport in Les Cayes. Medical Supplies Funded by USAID On Wednesday, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Eric Stromayer visited the Global Health Supply Chain - Procurement and Supply Chain Management (GHSC-PSM) partner's warehouse to see first-hand medical supplies funded by USAID, ready for distribution to health facilities in Haiti. GHSC-PSM manages health supplies such as drugs and other items for USG-funded HIV and family planning programs. In response to the ongoing cholera outbreak, GHSC-PSM is also managing health, water, sanitation and hygiene supplies to help fight cholera.
