J/P Haitian Relief the humanitarian organization of the actor Sean Penn has received a grant of $2.25 million from the International Development Association (IDA), an organ of the World Bank for a comprehensive program of rehousing for 500 families. This funding is part of a fund for housing reconstruction, financed by the World Bank and the Haiti Reconstruction Fund (HRF) for a total of $95 million.

J/P Haitian Relief Organization has announced Thursday that it would lead a consortium of seven international organizations to implement the program "Helping People Home", which aims to subsidize rents, building new permanent housing, repair existing homes and set up water kiosks powered by solar energy.

"We believe this grant marks an important step in the rebuilding of Haiti," declared Penn "Together, we will persist until the hundreds of thousands still displaced are safely home."
