Divisional Inspector Garry Desrosiers Spokesperson for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) confirmed that on the afternoon of Friday, November 25, 2022 Divisional Commissioner Rigaud Harington, Director of the Police Academy of Haiti has be killed "[...] The bandits executed him [...] he was shot in the head not far from the Academy [...] they stole his vehicle and kidnapped his driver."

After this assassination the attackers fled in the police car in which Commissioner Harington was.

According to available information Rigaud Harington, was preparing the graduation ceremony of a 5th cohort of commissioners and had taught all day to aspiring commissioners.
