Haiti - FLASH : Reopening of the border and resumption of the binational market
Finally, the group of Haitians for the maintenance of the closure of the border gate gave in to pressure from Haitian traders who had been blocked at the border for a week, with trucks loaded with goods and whose threats were increasing and reopened the border.
With the reopening of the gate on Sunday, November 27, Haitian and Dominican merchants celebrated this decision, trucks of goods began to cross again on both sides of the border, while merchants began to set up their shops and stalls to the binational market on Monday, November 28.
It is noted that during the entire closure of the border by a group of Haitians, the Haitian authorities did not intervene, contenting themselves with observing without intervening or making a statement on the situation...
