Haiti - FLASH : Massacre in Sources Matelas, at least 12 citizens killed, several houses burned (Video)

Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in the locality of Source-Matelas (commune of Cabaret) north of Port-au-Prince, heavily armed individuals attacked the inhabitants in the middle of the night as a sign of reprisal after having been chased from the area a few days earlier by the National Police of Haiti commented Joseph Jeanson Guillaume, the interim executive officer (mayor) of the commune.

With unlimited cruelty, these individuals savagely killed at least a dozen citizens and burned down several houses.

For Mayor Guillaume, the interventions of the PNH officers made it possible to limit the damage... "[...] We must give more resources to the police. The international community must also come to assit us. We are overtaken by events."

The population fears a new attack and asks to send police reinforcements to ensure their safety...

From judicial sources, 12 dead bodies were found, some partly charred. On their side, the civil protection of the town made an inventory of the number of burnt houses on Wednesday.
