Haiti - FLASH : Annual inflation explodes to 38.7% (Sept. 2022) 02/12/2022 07:13:24 The monthly increase (compared to August) observed in September 2022 is mainly the result of the behavior of the following consumption indices: "Food products and non-alcoholic beverages": +8.2% over one month and 44.3% over one year; "Clothing and footwear": +5.3% over one month and 40.9% over one year; "Health" +5.1% over one month and 31.2% over one year); "Restaurant": +5.4% over one month and 30.4% over one year. Products with higher annual inflation: Power: Imported rice (68.7%), decabri meat (47.0%), chicken (64.5%), powdered milk (60.4%), dry peas (43.3%) and cabbage (26.6%); Clothing and footwear: Clothing manufacturing (32.6%), dress (53.7%), panties (40.5%), suit, universal jacket (47.3%) and shoes and tennis (50.3%); Health: Glasses with corrective lenses (40.0%) and laboratory analysis, radiography (33.6%); Restaurants: Meals eaten outside, i.e. outside the home (31.1%). A higher price increase was observed at the level of imported products, i.e. 52.0% year-on-year and 30.9% year-on-year for local products. Metropolitan area: year +39.5% (+6.7% over one month) (Port-au-Prince, Delmas, Pétion-ville, Carrefour and Croix des Bouquet); Rest West: year +38.3% (+6.5% over one month) (South-East and West Departments without the metropolitan area); North: year +37.5% (+6.5% over one month) (North, North East and North West Department); South: year +41.1% (+6.7% over one month) (Department of the South, Grande-Anse and Nippes); Transversal: year +36.9% (+6.3% over one month) (Department of Center and Artibonite).
