Haiti - Cuture : 6th Transcultural Forum of Contemporary Art
The 6th Transcultural Forum of Contemporary Art organized by the Foundation AfricAméricA and its partners will be held in Port-au-Prince, Petion Ville and Croix-des-Bouquets, Sunday, September 25 to Monday, October 3, 2011.

For the first time, from September 25 to October 3, 2011, the Transcultural Forum of Contemporary Art of Port-au-Prince is investing the National School of Arts, the only public school in arts education in the Republic of Haiti. Closed for several months after the graduation of the last promotion in April 2011, the school will reopen few days after the Forum to welcome new students for a four-year cycle, reviewed and reformulated. The Transcultural Forum of Contemporary Art will allow us to see a dozen artists from the continents of Africa, America and Europe.

Thanks to the project "_trans-" and multimedia workshops of the Virtual Cultural Center of the program Arcades, the new technologies will be the focus of the Forum. a diversity of artistic practices: murals, canvas, sculptures, performances, etc... - will complete the entire program. In addition to ENARTS, various cultural institutions will be involved for a edition of the Transcultural Forum rooted in the city : Collective of the sculptors of the Grand Rue "Atis Rezistans", the Virtual Cultural Centre of the Ministry of Culture, the National Directorate of Books, Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL), the French Institute, Galerie Monnin, the Musée Georges Liautaud and the Association of Artists and Artisans de la Croix-des-Bouquets (ADAAC).

For 9 days, workshops, meetings, exhibitions, lectures, performances, screenings, etc... will participate to promote the contemporary art locally, regionally and internationally.

International artists invited are :
Ishola AKPO (multimedia, Benin) ;
Kossi ASSOU (sculpture, Togo) ;
Jean-Marc HUNT (murals, Guadeloupe) ;
Myriam MIHINDOU (photo, France) ;
Jean MORISSET (literature, Canada) ;
Ezequiel TAVERAS (sculpture, Dominican Republic).

Will participate in the project _trans- :
Joël ANDRIANOMEARISOA (exposure 30 and almost dreams, Madagascar) ;
Boris NZEBO (painting, Cameroon) ;
Rina RALAY-RANAIVO (multimedia, Madagascar) ;
TEMANDROTA (installation, Madagascar) ;
Hervé YAMGUEN (performance, Cameroon).

Haitian artists involved are :
Josué AZOR (photographer) ;
Jean-Bernard BAYARD (director) ;
Mario BENJAMIN (plastic) ;
Maksaens DENIS (director, multimedia artist) ;
Marc Antoine JOSEPH dit ZAKA (plastic) ;
Jean Eddy REMY (sculptor) ;
Sculptors of Grand Rue, particularly those of the new generation, members of Tele Ghetto: Romel JEAN PIERRE, Alex and Stevenson LOUIS SIMEON;
Artists and craftsmen of the Croix-des-Bouquets;
The students recently graduated from ENARTS.
