On Friday December 16, 2022, following a shadowing, the Sexual Crimes Unit proceeded to Clercine, to the arrest of Jean Nixon Abraham (a police officer) for rape on the young girl Berline Mathurin on February 26, 2022 in Lilavois 55, under arrest warrant issued by Government Commissioner Roosevelt Zamor on April 4, 2022. Abraham, was taken into custody at the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) pending referral by before the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Croix-des-Bouquets. Strengthening capacities to help victims of gender-based violence Thanks to funds from the American Agency for International Development (USAID - Haiti) and the support of the Ministry of Public Health, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is strengthening the capacity to provide care services clinic for victims of sexual violence in an integrated multi-sector approach of 15 health providers from structures supported in the South and Nippes.
