Haiti - Les Cayes : Training in Improved Local Construction Technique
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) carried out earlier this month in the city of Les Cayes, a training session for trainers in Improved Local Construction Technique (TCLA), lasting 10 days for the benefit of 30 executives from the local labor sector.

These sessions are part of the training activities to support safer self-reconstruction in the Great South of Haiti. The TCLA takes into account materials and local know-how, as well as seismic and anticyclonic standards during the construction of houses, aiming to reduce the risks associated with major environmental hazards.

Training in TCLA will expand to more than 2,000 other local construction workers with the aim of increasing the demand for more disaster-resistant housing and the supply of resilient construction professionals.

These training sessions are carried out within the framework of the "Risk Management and Resilience to Climate Hazards Project" (PGRAC) of the Government of Haiti, financed by the World Bank.
