Haiti - FLASH : Trafficker arrested, nearly 1,000 ammunition seized in Cap-Haitien
Friday, December 30, 2022, during a targeted search operation carried out by police officers from the Office for the Fight against Drug Trafficking (BLTS) on secondment in the North, together with agents from the Customs Surveillance Brigade, and in support of the customs officers of Cap-Haitien, the National Police in the North department proceeded at the level of the terminal of Quartier-Morin (CTSA) to the arrest of Junior Papoute (34 years old), native of Trou du Nord, accused of trafficking in ammunition.

Junior Papoute was responsible for receiving a package bearing the number 4210, which was in a container from the United States, registered GVCU-529932-9.

When package 4210 was opened, in the presence of the Justice of the Peace of the Quartier-Morin Court for the legal report, 20 boxes of 9×19 mm Luger FMJ cartridges and brand STERLING were discovered, including 19 boxes of 50 bullets each and a box containing 39 bullets for a total of 989 rounds.

Legal proceedings have been opened by the BLTS for the necessary follow-up.
