Haiti - Politic : The documents of Dr. Conille in the hands of the Senate Commission

Wednesday, the Prime Minister-designate, Dr. Garry Conille, submitted himself, his documents at the office of the Senate. The documents have then been transmitted to the Senator Simon Dieuseul Desras (Centre / Lavni), President of the Special Commission (1) in charge of analyzing the documents submitted "...Mr. the Prime Minister designated the Commission gives you act, in accordance with Article 157 of the Constitution, and your documents are submitted... [...] we give you the guarantee your record will be treated with objectivity and impartiality [...] we will work hard, we will work all weekend, we can not say when the report will be ready, but we will make efforts to end soon, we will do our job properly is the only guarantee that we give [...]

[...] all documents required by the Constitution, birth certificate of the Prime Minister-designate, birth certificate of his father and mother, the birth certificate of his grandparents, her national identification card notified by a certificate, his property titles, a certificate of residence, his police record, tax clearance certificate, curriculum vitae, certificate of nationality and different passports until the last passport that is valid at the time we are talking, and his certificate of residence in Haiti, we repeat that he has a certificate [of residence] because right now the equipment to the National Office of Identification is defective it gave him a certificate to say that he has a identification card, and this certificate certifies that he holds such a card."

Like his colleagues of the Special Commission of the Lower House, the President of the Senate Commission reported that members of the Commission will consult in their analysis, various experts in tax law, constitutional and international to produce a work of quality.

For his part, Rudolph Joazile, President of the Senate, emphasized on the technical aspect of this step to ensure the objectivity of the report, explaining that the Senate Commission could consider the work of the Commission of the Lower House, but added that this taking into account will not condition the conclusions of the report.

Dr. Garry Conille expressed confidence on the vote of the Senate and said that he is at the disposition of the Commission for additional information "...we are very pleased to bring our documents today, as the Constitution requests it and we are obviously at the disposition of the commission for any further questions or additional information that it would need.

We have no doubt, but we're glad that the Senator [Simon Dieuseul Desras] have assured us that this work will be done objectively. Gradually, as things go forward, we will be available to answer questions.

We are very confident that the report will be favorable, based on the approaches we have taken so far. There are no negotiations now, because the Commission has to do an objective work. We are confident, that on the basis of this objective work, they will find everything the Constitution demand as a requirement..."

Although the general opinion of observers predict a favorable vote to Dr. Conille, the negative comments expressed in the Senate and in the political class, suggests that unlike to the lower house, his eventual ratification by the Senate could be not only a mere formality.
