As part of the operation called "Tornade 1" launched by the National Police of Haiti (PNH) on January 27, 2023 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-38718-haiti-anti-gang-fight-the-pnh-launches-operation-tornade-1-video.html , in response to acts of banditry, operations were carried out through several areas occupied by gangs.

In less than 8 days, 6 individuals were arrested including gang members, 7 bandits were fatally injured in exchanges of fire with the police, a gun assault and 4 pistols were seized. While a freight truck was recovered by law enforcement.

Friday, January 27, 2023 :

The Temporary Anti-gang Unit (UTAG), the Intervention and Order Maintenance Corps (CIMO), the Departmental Order Maintenance Unit (UDMO) and the Tabarre Police carried out an operation in the areas of Torcel, Eddy One and Tapage which allowed the arrest of named Yvelt Célestin, alias "Tizo" and Jackson Onélus, alias "Akoun", influential member of the band in Vitelhomme.

At the same time, three other individuals were arrested by the police for criminal association:

- Hervé Célestin (30), alias "Tiblan M4"

- Wenskey Detournel (22 years old);

- Luckner Berger (25).

Wednesday, February 1st, 2023:

The Bon-Repos police arrested near Carrefour Shada, Noël Sanduno (39 years old) for illegal possession of a firearm, usurpation of title, and use of forged writing.

Thursday, February 2nd :

Actively sought, Nounou thus known and Geordany thus known were mortally wounded in exchanges of fire with the forces, in the area of Shapiny. They were wanted by the police in the jurisdiction of Bon Repos for their alleged involvement in acts of kidnapping, theft, robbery, extortion of drivers and association of criminals. They were part of the Canaan gang and that of Rosemberg led by "Patrick".

In the Corail area, an armed individual, while firing towards an armored patrol, was fatally injured as he tried to flee after being slightly injured.

Among other bandits mortally wounded in exchanges of fire with the PNH a member of a gang of "400 mawozo", which operated in the areas of Duval and Raquette.

It should be noted that a patrol of the Bon-Repos Intervention Brigade recovered very early in the area of Marin 34 and 36, a Mack truck, without papers, color green, registered TM-18306 containing goods.
