Mgr. Guire Poulard, reported that the Archbishop Emeritus of Cap-Haitien [founder of the Diocese of Fort-Liberté], Mgr. Hubert Constant, had died of a heart attack last Friday at the age of 80.

Mgr. Hubert Constant, who had retired in 2008, was a convinced patriot and a man of church passionate, stressed father Hans Alexander, spokesman of the Episcopal Conference, "he was a sensible and modest, a man of church in every sense of the term"

The funeral of Mgr. Hubert Constant will be celebrated Saturday at the Church of sacré-cœur of Turgeau, Port-au-Prince, then to Camp Perrin, his town of birth. The burial will be held at the cemetery of oblats, in the community de Mazenod.
