Textile : Resumption of activities at S&H Global

New management at ONA

Marguerite Berthe Thomas Marescot has been appointed as Director General of the National Old Age Insurance Office (ONA). The decree relating to his appointment was published on Friday February 10 in the newspaper Le Moniteur. She replaces Jamley Marc Jean-Baptiste in this position.

480 new teachers

As part of the ongoing secondary reform, the Ministry of National Education has just hired 480 new young trainee teachers who have just completed their higher education cycles from three entities of the State University of Haiti (350 young teachers from the École Normale Supérieure, 50 from the Faculty of Applied Linguistics and 80 from the Higher Institute for Studies and Research in the Social Sciences). They will be distributed in various public schools across the country to provide courses related to the renovated secondary.

Canada and Jamaica discuss about Haiti

Mélanie Joly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada met with her Jamaican counterpart Amina J Smith to discuss the priorities of Canada and Jamaica before the 44th meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government to be held in Nasseau, Bahamas on February 15 and 16. The two Chancellors also discussed issues relating to the situation in Haiti.
