Haiti - FLASH : Earthquake in the South felt as far as Port-au-Prince

Tuesday, February 21, 2023 evening at 10:56 p.m. and 17 seconds an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale was recorded in Haiti off Marigot (South Dept.)

The epicenter was located at 17.672 degrees North latitude and 72.296 degrees West longitude, i.e. at sea 61 km south of Marigot (Dept. of the South), 100 km south of Port-au-Prince (Dept. of West) at a depth of 16 km.

This earthquake was felt in the south of the country but also in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince.

No loss of life or damage has been reported so far by the Civil Protection in relation to this earthquake.
