Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry :
"We learned with emotion of the death of former Prime Minister Gérard Latortue. His disappearance is a huge loss for the Nation he served as Head of Government (March 2004 - June 2006). He was a reformer, a convinced patriot, an eminent technocrat, a voice of change, of development, a supporter of democracy who is gone today. I extend, on behalf of the Government and the people of Haiti, my heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family, his friends, as well as his former collaborators."

Rosemond Pradel, Minister of Public Works :
"I learned with sorrow the sad news of the death, this Monday, February 27 in Florida, of the former Haitian Prime Minister Gérard Latortue who led the Prime Minister between 2004 and 2006. History will remember that he was a technocrat and a character of integrity who served his country with dignity. Sincere condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace !"

Former Prime Minister Claude Joseph :
"PM Gérard Latortue served his country with dignity, passion and love. A man of compromise, but above all a statesman who organized, as he had promised, credible and transparent elections. That his soul rests in peace !"

Former Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant :
"I just learned this morning the news of the death of the former PM, Gérard Latortue, a pragmatic politician who knew how, in a very difficult context, to lead the country to free and democratic elections. I salute his memory and offer my condolences to his family and friends."

Former Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe :
"I learned, with desolation, the sad news of the death of former Prime Minister Gérard Latortue. Haiti has lost one of its rare pearls. I extend my deepest sympathy to his family. Rest in peace patriot !"

Embassy of Canada :
