Haiti - Justice : Swearing in of 8 new judges of the Court of Cassation (Video PM speech)

On Tuesday March 7, 2023, Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry attended the swearing-in ceremony for the 8 new judges of the Court of Cassation, in the presence of members of the Government, Myrlande Manigat, President of the High Council of the Transition, representatives of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), representatives of associations of magistrates, members of the High Staff of the Armed Forces of Haiti and the National Police of Haiti and representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps among others...

Me Marie Joceline Cazimir, who spoke on behalf of her newly installed colleagues, declared that the choice of the Prime Minister was an "informed choice" underlining "We are, among many other magistrates, women and men of integrity, competent, serious, respectful of principle who have their togas and their immaculate toques, who know the legal system perfectly well."
