The incident occurred in Cap-Haitien, Haiti's second city, where are located the offices of the Baptist Convention. Yesterday Thursday, September 29 at approximately 2:00am, Several gunmen broke into the home of Emmanuel Pierre, General Secretary of the Baptist Convention of Haiti, and they forced the Baptist leader to follow them by force.

The kidnappers demand a ransom for his release, has declared to the Baptist World Alliance (BWA), Gedeon Eugene, the President of the convention, who asserts to be in negotiations with the kidnappers for the speedy and safe release of the religious leader.

Neville Callam, BWA General Secretary assured Haitian Baptists of the prayers of Baptists around the world for the safe return of Pierre to his family and friends.
