Haiti - Politic : The Socialist International discusses a resolution on the Haitian crisis
The Socialist International will discuss at its plenary meeting, which is being held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, a resolution on the crisis in Haiti, informed the President of the Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International socialist Miguel Vargas Maldonado also President of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD).

He stated that it was absolutely necessary and urgent that the international community, in particular the United States, France, Canada, the European Union and multilateral organizations such as the United Nations and the OAS, assume without further delay the responsibility of accompanying the Haitian leaders to find a way out of the institutional crisis that has led them on the uncertain path they are currently taking.

"It has been more than demonstrated that it is only with the support of the international community that Haitian leaders will be able to eradicate the criminal gangs that occupy and dominate its territory, and thus, thanks to dialogue and agreement between these leaders, finally find peace, stability and a return to institutionality, which will have to create the conditions and the appropriate scenario for the celebration of fair, free and democratic elections which will definitively lead its people on the paths of development," he added.
