Wednesday, April 19, 2023 bandits from several heavily armed gangs, arrived in 3 minibuses, attacked Source Matelas, 3rd communal section of Cabaret. Twenty people were reportedly killed and many more injured. At least a dozen houses were burnt down. According to Joseph Jeanson Guillaume, executive agent of Cabaret, it is not yet possible to establish an official balance sheet but it will be very heavy. This attack would be retaliation against the inhabitants for having put up resistance to the bandits in recent weeks.

148 community restaurants restocked
From April 16 to 19, teams from the Economic and Social Assistance Fund supplied 148 community restaurants in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince as part of the Multisectoral Emergency Program for the relief and social reintegration of groups vulnerable financed by the Public Treasury. Each of the restaurants received 40 bags of rice of 25 kg; 10 bags of Beans of 25kg; 10 cases of salmon of 12 units of 425 g and 13 cans of oil of 10 liters.
