Haiti - Social : Donation of 60 million from the IDB, for Strengthening of safety nets for vulnerable populations 17/05/2023 08:51:25 The Program will be implemented in areas strongly affected by food insecurity, particularly in the departments of Ouest, Grand'Anse, Nord-Ouest, Center and Artibonite, and attaches great importance to families with children with special needs, suffering from malnutrition and/or a pregnant and breastfeeding woman... Thanks to this new program, which aims to reduce food insecurity and increase the medium and long-term resilience of vulnerable populations in Haiti, approximately 370,000 people will benefit from cash transfers under the Cash for Work approach and 170 small community development projects. In the first part of the "temporary income" program, each beneficiary household will receive 4 cash transfers equivalent to 100 dollars. In the second part of the program, each beneficiary household will receive two transfers equivalent to 100 US dollars and a health package covering basic services for the beneficiary and his family estimated at 200 dollars. Two other components aim to assist internally displaced persons, returnees and assess the needs of migrants. Transfers will be made one month apart and beneficiaries will be encouraged to create income-generating activities. Signing of contracts between FAES and the partners involved by the end of May and first advance of funds to operators in June to begin with the implementation of the action plan. In addition, FAES hopes to register 92,000 new vulnerable households in the information targeting database of the Ministry of Social Affairs. PI/ HaitiLibre
