OAS : beginning of a consensus

Léon Charles, Permanent Representative of Haiti to the Organization of American States (OAS) participated in the 5th meeting of the Working Group on Haiti. Beginning of a consensus between the members of the 3 subgroups (Elections and Democracy, Humanitarian and Security) on the need to restore the minimum security conditions for the holding of elections.

Strike by the Public prosecution workers, lifted for 2 months

In order to facilitate the liquidation of ongoing criminal cases, including the holding of criminal assizes and correctional hearings, the Public prosecution workers who have been on strike for nearly four months, have announced the temporary suspension of their movement for a period of two months. However, if their demands are not taken into account by then, the strike movement will resume from August 1.

Haiti at the 58th session on climate change

A delegation from the Ministry of the Environment of Haiti is participating from June 5 to 15, 2023, in Bonn (Germany), in the 58th session of the subsidiary bodies of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Make the Haitian crisis more visible at the regional level

Michelle Muschett, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Regional Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for Latin America and the Caribbean, had a candid exchange with the Ambassadors of Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and the OAS Special Representative in Haiti on the importance of making the complex crisis that Haiti is going through more visible at the regional level and called for solidarity and more effective coordination of South-South cooperation.
