Haiti - USA : Mooresville business owner donates thousands of solar panels to Haiti
Michal Bay, the owner of the business complex "Merino Mill", in Mooresville (North Carolina) took advantage of improvements to its infrastructure to help at the same time people in need in Haiti.

Michal Bay has partnered with a Belmont non-profit organization "Promise For Haiti" to donate thousands of solar panels to homes and businesses in Haiti to generate electricity in areas where this service is currently unavailable.

Bay estimates the value of the system, which is being removed from his building to install new air conditioning units, to be worth around $2.5 million.

Merino Mill teams have started dismantling the solar panels so they can be cleaned, packed and transported to Haiti.

Let's recall that in 2016, 5,100 solar panels were installed in its Merino Mill complex in Mooresville where it sold electricity to Duke Energy. The solar panels generated 1,595 megawatts per year.
