Haiti - FLASH : The 2000 market located in Delmas 29, destroyed in a fire

Monday around 5:30 a.m., according to testimonies, the 2000 market located at Delmas 29, near Star 2000, was engulfed in flames, reducing almost all the goods that were there to ashes.

Despite the presence of firefighters from the Town Hall of Delmas, the fire spread and several warehouses were completely destroyed.

Under the helpless gaze of the firefighters and the Delmas police, merchants in distress saw their millions of Gourdes of investments go up in smoke.

The damage is considerable. Desperate, the traders implore the government authorities to come to their aid.

Currently in Jamaica, Prime Minister Ariel Henry expressed his sympathy to the merchants who were victims of this fire "I was shocked to learn of the fire which devastated the Marché 2000, at Delmas 29, early this morning. to determine the cause of this accident.

I would like to express my sympathy and all the solidarity of the Government with regard to the merchants who were victims of this fire. We are committed to looking into their case, with a view to an urgent response to their situation," Ariel Henry.
