Me Bernard Saint-Vil, Dean of the TPI

In a letter addressed to the Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, Me Jean Edler Guillaume, the Ministry of Justice informed that the citizen Bernard Saint-Vil is appointed Judge and Dean at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince.

The former mayor of Limonade, released after 15 months in prison

The former mayor of the town of Limonade Gesner Dieudonné was released on July 11, 2023, after spending nearly 15 months in detention in Cap-Haitien prison. His release was ordered by Judge Ronald Charles during a criminal hearing without the assistance of a jury, at the Court of First Instance of Cap-Haitien. Imprisoned for illegal possession of firearms and destruction of public property, Dieudonné was acquitted of these charges.

Canada supports women-led MSMEs

Canada has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Haiti that will strengthen micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). This $5 million project will help reduce poverty among women-led businesses in Haiti.

Owner of a gas station arrested

Davidson Jean Charles, owner of a service station, Saul Jeune and Plaisimond Widrick, two gas station attendants, were arrested by the Aquin Government Commissioner, Adrien Exama. They are accused of selling the fuel on the black market.
