Haiti - World Cup : Melchie Dumornay alias «Corventina», prodigy player
Announced for several years as one of the nuggets of women's football, Melchie Dumornay (19) alias "Corventina" by qualifying Haiti for the first Women's World Cup in its history, has entered into Haitian legend and is preparing to discover the very high international level in Australia and New Zealand on the occasion of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup (July 20 - August 20).

Not tense by the challenge "Corventina" is ready to compete (Saturday July 22, 2023) against England.

In 2023, Melchie Dumornay had an XXL season during which she was nominated for the trophy for best player and best hope of the French first division championship. Her statistics are impressive: 11 goals and 6 assists in 18 games, a sixth place in the championship, a semi-final of the Coupe de France lost on penalties against Olympique Lyonnais, a future transfer to the same Lyonnaises and a World Cup qualification with Haiti against Chile by scoring 2 goals [2-1], the second of which ensures Haiti's qualification for the World Cup https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-38910-haiti-flash-haiti-qualified-for-the-women-s-world-cup-after-its-victory-[2-1]-against-chile-video.html

"I realized how amazing it was to score two goals with my left foot. It was magical. We managed to make history," says "Corventina". With this feat, the Grenadières join men counterparts who had played in the World Cup in 1974."We have the opportunity to do a little more than the men. We want to go as far as possible to show men that we are better. I think it's that mentality that's going to drive us through every match because we deserve that attention and the opportunities the men have that we don't."

Melchie Dumornay's last wish for this World Cup "I want to celebrate my 20th birthday by still being in the World Cup". That would take us to August 17, 2023, right after the semi-finals...

Note that our Grenadières will not play any other friendly match as it was initially before the recognized against England.

The Grenadières will play the three pool matches in three separate cities, each time with a different time difference compared to Haiti.
