iciHaiti - NOTICE : The American Embassy closed for consular services

Monday, August 8, 2023, the United States Embassy in Port-au-Prince was not closed. The Embassy advises that it did not provide services to the public and was open for limited operations only. All personnel have been restricted to embassy compounds until further notice due to gunfire near the embassy. Travel between concessions has been prohibited. Some routes to the Embassy may be affected due to continuous rapid fire.

The U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince will be closed for public (consular) services on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 but will be open for limited operations only.

For your safety avoid the area. Avoid demonstrations and large gatherings of people. If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and go to a safe area.
