Haiti - Insecurity : 24 schools have been relocated in the metropolitan area

After a preliminary assessment by the Departmental Directorate of Education of the West Department, the Ministry of National Education has identified 24 public and private schools that have been relocated to the Port-au-Prince region in recent days.

This assessment, which is part of the work to identify displaced students and teachers, allows the Ministry to count so far about 3,100 students in these 24 schools.

The Commission set up by the Ministry to identify displaced students and teachers and manage the implications in the education system https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40382-haiti-education-the-ministry-tackles-the-problem-of-displaced-students-and-teachers.html MENFP will have to make a proposal for a solution allowing the resumption of school activities.

Faced with this difficult situation in Port-au-Prince and elsewhere in the country, the Ministry reminds all actors and citizens of the need to protect school buildings, benches, boards, books, computer equipment, archives and latrines "Schools are a temple where children learn to prepare for their future, we must protect them with all that is in it.é

Once again, on the occasion of the start of the school year scheduled for September 11, 2023, the Ministry reiterates its solidarity with the parents of students and the entire educational community in these difficult times, for the sacrifices they are making to keep the open school doors in their neighborhoods.
