The Kenyan Government defends its decision to take command of the Multinational Mission in Haiti and insists on the fact that it will deploy elite units in Haiti against the gangs which hold the population hostage.

Thomazeau police station burned

Wednesday October 4th, 2023 in the early afternoon, heavily armed individuals members of the "400 Mawozo" gang led by Wilson Joseph alias "Lanmò san jou" attacked and set fire to the Thomazeau police station. Faced with a force superior in number and weapons, the police, after trying to resist, had to disengage to save their lives. No material and human toll has been communicated. After Canaan (August 22) and Onaville (September 30), this is the third police infrastructure to have been attacked and burned...

Violence in Saut-d’Eau and Mirebalais at least 30 dead

Civil Protection, in its report #5 which it has just published, has drawn up a partial assessment of the violent attacks by heavily armed individuals in the municipalities of Saut-d'Eau and Mirebalais between September 22 and 25, 2023. Losses of human life amounted to at least 30 dead and around ten injured. More than 800 families had to flee their homes... On a material level, the damage was significant. A police station and 2 police vehicles burned. 14 vehicles and 10 motorcycles stolen, more than thirty food store depots, a dance bar, a pharmacy, two "MonCash" transfer offices and a CAM transfer office were attacked and looted.

Japan : Inauguration of the Vallières solar power plant

Wednesday October 4th, 2023, KUBO Yuji, Ambassador of Japan, accompanied by the municipal authorities of Vallières, Nick René Hartmann, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Evenson Calixte, Director of the National Regulatory Authority of the Energy Sector (ANARSE) carried out the traditional ribbon cutting of the Vallières Photovoltaic Power Plant as part of the rural electrification and women's empowerment project financed by Japan to the tune of 5.5 million US dollars in the municipalities of Capotille, Mont Organisé and Vallières.
