A mini bus targeted at least 4 dead…:
Tuesday October 24, 2023, at least 4 people were killed and several others injured, some seriously, after heavily armed individuals targeted a mini bus at Carrefour Peigne (Dept. Artibonite) which was providing the Gonaïves / Port-au-Prince route. The men of the "Gran Grif" gang operating in Savien, (Petite-Rivière de l’Artibonite), are singled out in this attack.

2 million Haitians live in areas controlled by gangs
Two million people, including 1.6 million women and children, live in areas under the control of armed groups, lamented Catherine Russell, Executive Director of UNICEF. She regretted the forced displacement within Haiti of tens of thousands of people due to extreme gang violence.

The PM applauds the arrest of Badio:

Kenya : New delay
Tuesday, October 24, the High Court of Kenya extended until November 9 the ban on the deployment of Kenyan police officers as part of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMAS) in Haiti. The delay is attributable to a complaint filed by opposition leader Ekuro Aukot, who argues that sending the police would be unconstitutional and lacked legal support. High Court judge Enock Mwita announced that the issue would be analyzed and debated at a public session on November 9. Remember that the deployment has not yet been voted on by the National Assembly of Kenya.

Mirlande Manigat at the UN
Monday October 23, 2023, Mirlande Manigat, President of the High Transitional Council (HCT) before the UN Security Council welcomed the adoption of resolution 2699 which authorizes the deployment in Haiti of a Multinational Support Mission for Security (MMAS) "The foreign troops supporting the Haitian National Police are expected by a significant segment of the population made up of the real victims [...]" she affirmed.

A cousin of "Lanmò San Jou" killed and burned by the population
Tuesday Lucson Casséus, an alleged cousin of Wilson Joseph alias "Lanmò San Jou", one of the leaders of the "400 Mawozo" gang operating in Croix-des-bouquets, was killed and his body burned by the population in Mirebalais, where he resided for some time.
