Haiti - PNH : Kidnapping foiled, 7 kidnappers mortally wounded
Monday, November 6, 2023, agents of the Haitian National Police (PNH) assigned to the Intervention Brigade foiled a kidnapping at Delmas 33, more precisely rue Jacques 1er near the citrons Market.

7 kidnappers were killed during exchanges of fire with the police, two of whom wore uniforms from the Intervention Corps for Maintenance of Order (CIMO) declared Divisional Inspector Gary Desrosiers, spokesperson for the PNH.

Kidnapped in the Puits Blain area in Delmas 75 while leaving his home to go about his activities, the hostage, a 60-year-old resident of the Vivy Mitchel neighborhood, was released by the police.

Two vehicles and firearms were seized during this operation.

"What happened today is a signal showing the capacity of the police to track down bandits and guarantee the safety of the population. It is the will and the means that are lacking," declared Lionel Lazarre, Coordinator of the National Union of Haitian Police Officers (SYNAPOHA).
