"Addressing the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the Ambassador of Haiti in Paris, Josué Pierre Dahomey, recalls that Haiti, a founding member of the BIE, organized a Universal Exhibition in Port-au-Prince in 1949 commemorating the bicentenary of his capital. He announces that the Government of Haiti wishes to organize a Universal Exhibition in 2049 in Port-au-Prince.
