Thursday, November 30, 2023 as part of the qualifications for the Gold Cup W 2024, from the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) zone, our Grenadières leader of Group C faced each other in a match return the "Ticas" of Costa Rica, on the lawn of the "Alejandro Morena Soto" stadium in the province of Alajuel where Haiti experienced defeat [2-1] after 3 consecutive victories.

For this match, Franco-Portuguese coach Frédéric Gonçalvez presented a unique starting lineup with attacker Roselord Borgella in central defense.

Summary:

Gloriana Villalobos opened the scoring for the Costa Rican "Ticas" in the 13th minute [1-0]. Our Grenadières tried to react, but their long passes lacked precision and did not worry the opposing defense. Amandine Pierre-Louis' attempts and Sherly Jeudy's shot in the 42nd minute were easily stopped by goalkeeper Daniela Solera. At halftime the score was unchanged [1-0] for Costa Rica.

Coming back from the locker room our girls were more threatening and Nérilia Mondesir equalized with a superb shot from 30 meters at the 54’ [1-1]

Unfortunately at the end of the match Alexa Herrera scored the winning goal for the Ticas [2-1] in the 90'+8.

After this defeat, our Grenadières must now wait to know the result of the Costa Rica vs Saint-Kitts-&-Nevis match (December 4) in order to know if they will be forced to go through the play-offs or not.

To qualify, the Ticas must win against Saint-Kitts-&-Nevis with at least a 14-goal margin without conceding any...
