HIV : Message from the PM:
"World AIDS Day (December 1) should be a day of reflection. HIV/AIDS remains a reality that affects millions of lives around the world, but together we have the power to make a difference, by educating, sharing information and breaking stereotypes, [...] My Government is all fully determined to meet Haiti's international commitments, in particular that of eliminating HIV by 2030. Despite current priorities, the budget of the Ministry of Health has been increased and I am assured that part will be dedicated to this fight [...] We must promote understanding, empathy and respect towards those living with HIV. It is by working together that we can overcome the social barriers that hinder prevention and treatment," declared Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry.

For a prosperous agricultural future
This Tuesday, November 28, the Swiss Ambassador to Haiti, Ms. Rita Hämmerli-Weschke, met Ronald Gabriel, the Governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH). The discussion focused on strengthening the partnership for a prosperous agricultural future. They discussed several crucial points including the importance of the Agricultural Production Support Program in Haiti (PAPAH 2) within the National Framework for Agricultural Financing in Haiti (CNFA), a Swiss initiative implemented in collaboration with the BRH.

Education : Training for evening center instructors
The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) and UNESCO launched a series of training courses at the end of November for managers and instructors of evening centers. This series of training aims to equip managers and instructors of these non-formal education centers to prepare lesson sheets (teaching sheets) with accelerated programs. The training will have practical content and will address the concerns of the ministry, in particular questions relating to the experimentation of the accelerated program, the improvement of the quality of teaching-learning in the evening centers.

Collection of gender-specific data
Friday, December 1st, the Ministry for the Status of Women closed its 2-day workshop on "The harmonization of tools and the collection of gender-specific data, the prioritization of indicators and the facilitation of a working group for the harmonization of national data collection tools, in collaboration with the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics."
