iciHaiti - Culture : 8th edition of the Theater and Performing Arts Festival (Program) 08/12/2023 08:59:23
Through this theme, the Festival wishes to restore the mythical dimension of the city, sung, according to the pen, by its writers. This year, Gaëlle Bien-Aimé, winner of the 2022 RFI theater prize, is this year’s guest of honor. "Dire Port-au-Prince" expresses the urgency of sharing the experience of living together shaped over two centuries by writers believing in the immortality of the Negro Capital of the modern world. Initiated in 2016 by BIT-Haiti, the "En Lisant" Theater and Performing Arts Festival aims to fill the lack of knowledge of contemporary theater in Haiti. This gap arises from the absence of performances, promotional activities and the inaccessibility of literary works, both in bookstores and in libraries.
