Haiti - Sports : Still no victory for Haiti...
The 16th Pan American Games taking place this year in Guadalajara [Mexico] from October 15 to 30, 2011. 12 Haitian athletes participate in these competitions in five disciplines: Athletics - Judo - Tennis - Taekwondo, and Weightlifting.

At the weightlifting competition on Tuesday, Men's 85kg Group A, Haiti was represented by Odeus Belizer 84.25kg. Belizer was ranked last of the seven weightlifters forming the group A. In the snatch, the Haitian weightlifter has lifted 140kg then 145kg missing his third attempt to 148kg, the result for the snatch is 145kg. In the clean and jerk, Belizer missed his two frist attempts to 165kg, but succeeded his third try. Result in the clean and jerk 165kg, for a total of 310kg. The gold medal went to Cuba, with 363kg, the silver to Carlos Hernan Andicia (362 kg) et the bronze to the American Kendrick James Farris (348 kg).

In athletics, yesterday Wednesday, to the Men's 200m, the Haitian Roudy Monrose, in the corridor No. 5, finished the race fifth in 21.63 seconds, not enough to be qualified, [Only the first four were qualified for further competition]. The fastest was Alex Leonardo Quiñonez from Ecuador with a time of 20.73 seconds. While the second Haitian runner, Jonathan Juin, who ran in the same discipline, finished for his part with a time of 21.62 seconds. The fastest of this race was Michael Walter Mathieu of the Bahamas, with a time of 20.81 seconds.

Also on Wednesday at the Men's 400m Hurdles Semifinal 1/3, our fellow Alie Beauvais inished fifth with a time of 51.67 seconds [in this race only the two best times are qualified]. The fastest was the Jamaican Isa Phillips, with a time of 49.62 seconds followed by Emanuel Mayers of Trinidad and Tobago with 49.86 seconds.
