Serious road accident

Three people died and several others seriously injured in a serious traffic accident that occurred on the road linking the municipalities of Miragoâne, Paillant and Petite-Rivière de Nippes. The accident involved a van carrying "Madan Sar" whose brakes allegedly failed.

Biden program : 112,000 Haitians already settled in the United States

From January 6, 2023, to the end of November, 297,000 people were allowed to enter the United States under the Humanitarian Parole Program. Jacmel new Rector at UPSEJ

Thursday, December 21st, 2023 on the campus of the Public University of the South-East of Jacmel (UPSEJ), Professor Auguste D'Meza, Acting General Coordinator of the Network of Public Universities in the Regions (UPR), proceeded with the installation of Ms. dzMagdala Jean-Baptiste, Dr. in Educational Sciences, as Rector of UPSEJ. She replaces Dr. Jean Elie Gilles in this position.

New equipment for CONATEL

Friday December 22, 2023, the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL) presented newly acquired equipment, thanks to financial support from the World Bank. These tools will be used to improve frequency control and the quality of the digital space in Haiti, according to Jose Jean Baptiste, General Director of CONATEL.

Miscellaneous facts

The police arrested Daniel Laplante in Delmas 89. This individual was arrested for having embezzled the 500,000 gourdes that he had to give as ransom to kidnappers to facilitate the release of one of his kidnapped relatives. Along the way, he decided to keep the money and inform his parents that he had been kidnapped.
