A press release from the Secretariat of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) informs that on Saturday December 23, 2023 around 9:00 a.m., heavily armed individuals attacked soldiers who were on duty on the zone of Bon-Repos (north of the capital).

"One of our men was fatally injured, while a second, injured, was rushed to a hospital in the metropolitan area where he received the treatment his case required," the press release said.

"The General Headquarters presents its sincere condolences to the parents of the deceased soldier" indicating that an investigation is underway to shed light on this unfortunate incident.
