Haiti - Economy : USDOL will assess compliance with international labor standards
The Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH) informs that a delegation from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) will travel the country soon to visit Haitian businesses of the garment industry, as part of the evaluation program of compliance with international labor standards, as provided by law HOPE.

The ADIH and the Tripartite Commission for the Implementation of the law HOPE (CTMO-HOPE) welcome the delegation of USDOL and othe ther members of the U.S. government, and are excited to share with them the best practices and improve the compliance of the garment industry while Haiti is developing this important sector of its economy.

"In these times of severe economic difficulties, and facing stiff competition at the global level, Haiti is determined to ensure that workers rights are protected and the social responsibility grew up in the business community" says ADIH.

"Compliance with international labor standards has made ​​great progress and the and opportunities exist to further improve the performance of companies in this field. Haitian apparel industry is pleased to welcome the team of USDOL" concluded the Association of Industries of Haiti.
