Haiti - Police : A police officer shot down, the President Martelly condemns

Michel Martelly, the President of the Republic, currently in the United States for health reasons since October 27, condemned the shooting of the police officer Sylvain Luckner, Agent II, member of the Presidential Security Unit (PSU) in charge of the close security of the Head of State, in the afternoon of Monday, October 31, 2011.

Luckner Sylvain, married with three children, was shot dead in the street Caravelle, Nazon, near his home by two men riding on a motorcycle. After their act, the killers took with them the weapon of the police officer.

The Presidency, while offering its sympathies to the family of the victim and to the National Police of Haiti (PNH), asks to the competent authorities to take all necessary steps for render harmless the bandits and ensure a safer environment in the capital and across the country.
