Haiti - Politic : «Ariel Henry will leave after the elections» says the USA
Tuesday February 6, 2024, while Haiti is in the grip of numerous anti-Government demonstrations, against a backdrop of insurrection and civil disobedience, demanding the departure of the Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry, Eric Stromayer the American Chargé d'affaires in Haiti, on the airwaves of a radio station in the capital renewed the "unwavering support of the United States" for Prime Minister Henry, inviting the protagonists to dialogue with the Head of Government, repeating "Ariel Henry will leave after the elections" the only possible way to put an end to this transition which has lasted too long.
A statement echoed by Me Michel André, spokesperson for the radical opposition of the Democratic and Popular Sector, who affirms "Prime Minister Ariel Henry will not leave without handing over power to elected officials."
