Monday February 19, 2024, the Episcopal Conference of Haiti (CEH) a press release, signed by Father Jean Rodney Brévil, Deputy Permanent Vice-Secretary of the CEH, informs that Mgr Pierre André Dumas Bishop of Anse-à-Veau and Miragoâne "[...] was injured evening by an explosion which hit the house where he was staying during his stay in Port-au-Prince."

Even if no other details were provided on the nature and circumstances of this explosion, the episcopate press release specifies and concludes "[...] for the moment, the state of health of Mgr Dumas is stable [...] We entrust him to your fervent prayers for a speedy recovery."
