Haiti - Education : Towards the construction of 20 new schools
Thursday, February 22, 2024, Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry, convened an important working meeting around the project for the immediate construction of 20 new schools (national schools and high schools) in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince and the communes of the department of the West, financed by the National Education Fund (FNE).

Each school will have, among other things, 12 classrooms, an administrative block, a computer room, a library, a laboratory, a conference room, two sanitary blocks, a infirmary and a playground.

As part of this construction work, twelve municipalities are concerned: Port-au-Prince, Pétion-ville, Cité-Soleil, Carrefour, Gressier, Croix-des-Bouquets, Tabarre, Cabaret, Fonds-Parisien, La Gonâve, Léogâne and Kenscoff.

These constructions are part of the government's commitment to strengthening education services in several areas of the metropolitan area, by building modern, quality educational infrastructure.

The problem of people displaced from certain areas of the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince was also on the agenda of this meeting. It was an opportunity for Ariel Henry to instruct the authorities concerned to work hard and as quickly as possible on the relocation of our fellow citizens.
