Haiti - FLASH 2025 World Cup qualifiers : Our Grenadiers qualified for the final qualifying phase (Video)
Tuesday February 27, 2024, as part of the Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) championship, counting for the qualifiers for the Chile 2025 World Cup, our Grenadiers U-20 faced on the lawn of the "SKNFA Technical Center" in Basseterre (Saint Kitts and Nevis) the "Coqui Warriors" of Puerto Rico, a match which ended by a draw [1-1] allowing Haiti to qualify for the final qualifying phase.

Starting XI :
#1 Jonah Garvin Mednard (GK)
#2 Rikanel Chéry
#4 Mendell Francois
#5 Jaylen-André Vilsaint (Captain)

#15 Darrell N. Etienne Jr. (64’ entry from #16 Alexander Champagne)
#20 Schneilorens Lebrun (90’+5 entry from #13 Clifford Louis Jean)

Summary :
In the first period our Grenadiers suffered against a dominating and very committed Puerto Rican selection and despite their determination our Grenadiers conceded the opener on a shot from Fabian Mendez 39' [0-1] for the benefit of Puerto Rico. Motivating the "Coqui Warriors" to increase physical attacks on our players…

Upon returning from the locker room our Grenadiers showed themselves to be more organized and more offensive without however being able to conclude but making sure to leave as little space as possible to the “coqui Warriors” whom they pushed back several times. It was not until the 71st minute that Joseph Belmar scored the equalizing goal with a header from a cross from Schneilorens Lebrun [1-1]. The Puerto Ricans redoubled their efforts to try to increase their score but in vain, in front of our well-organized Grenadiers.
