Violent shootings, looting, clashes with police, kidnappings and arson were reported throughout the day. Hundreds of people had to abandon displacement camps and their homes to avoid being victims of armed gangs... Heavily armed men burst into the premises of the Congregation Saint-Joseph de Cluny, in the community of Madeline, and kidnapped three nuns, some of whom were foreigners, the Haitian Conference of Religious confirmed.
