The Dominican Ministry of Defense (MIDE) informed that 296 diplomats (174 men, 105 women, 9 girls and 8 boys) from the European Union, the World Bank, the Canadian Embassy, the International Monetary Fund, of the United Nations and the Cuban Embassy, were evacuated from Haiti to the Dominican Republic, through security operations.

MIDE added that given the increase in requests to transfer personnel from various diplomatic missions, it has received requests from the United States and Canada to support humanitarian missions in a security situation.

He also added that both countries have requested permission to have temporary access to personnel and equipment, including aircraft, to support their humanitarian objectives.
