Haiti - UN : Humanitarian aid has started to be delivered to Haiti

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, confirmed the start of sending humanitarian aid to Haiti, using the "airlift" from the Dominican Republic.
The information was confirmed by Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, during a press conference on Monday. Haq explained that it was a return flight and that the organization hopes that "there will be more regular helicopter travel" between the two countries so that they can "have better access to Port-au-Prince".
"We continue on this path and we hope that all authorities and all parties on the ground will cooperate in our efforts," he added. "The United Nations continues flights between the Dominican Republic and Haiti and continues to transport humanitarian equipment."
"The airlift, in addition to the movement of humanitarian personnel, was able to transport to Haiti more than 800 kilos of medicine, including blood bags, and other medical supplies, essential supplies for the health response of the United Nations agencies and NGOs. Air transport also allowed humanitarian organizations to have enough staff to continue delivering aid," informed the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
