Punta Cana : The opening of a center in charge of migrants canceled

The UN International Organization for Migration (IOM), which was to open this Saturday March 23 at 9:00 a.m. a Center for the care of migrants, had to cancel the opening ceremony in response to an appeal from the Ministry of the Interior and of the Police (MIP). Juan Manuel Rosario, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Police in charge of Migration Management and Naturalization, underlined in a note that the opening of this center "did not obtain the agreement of the MIP" recalling that a State's migration policy is a discretionary initiative of the State and cannot be implemented by any agency.

Ariel Henry in California

Ariel Henry, waiting for the final list of members of the Presidential Transitional Council to be given to him by CARICOM, to issue a decree in the Council of Ministers and publish it in the official journal Le Moniteur, has left Puerto Rico and is now in California. The reasons for this change of location are unknown.

Police officers can cash their checks at all banks:

Following a decision by the Government in agreement with the Haitian banking authorities, from March 25, 2024, all agents of the Haitian National Police will be able to change their checks at any commercial bank in the country instead of BRH exclusively. Agents will thus have more flexibility and be able to access their funds more easily.
