Haiti - Culture : 2nd Quebec Film Festival in Haiti 08/11/2011 11:00:16 The Fabienne Colas Foundation, , the founding and organizing body of the Quebec Film Festival In Haiti (QFFH), is proud to announce Western Union as the official presenter of the 2nd edition of the Festival "We are pleased that Western Union, a leader in global payment services, decided to become the official presenter of the 2nd Quebec Film Fesival in Haiti. This important partnership will enable the Festival to present all its screenings FREE of charge to the Haitian audience, to reach a wider audience and to continue to grow and develop. This is a turning point in the history of the Quebec Film Festival in Haiti," said Fabienne Colas, President of the Festival. This 2nd edition will pay tribute to Dany Laferrière through a retrospective of two films adapted of his novels : "Vers le Sud" of Laurent Cantet, "Le Goût des jeunes filles" of John Lecuyer; A film he wrote and directed himself : "Comment Conquérir l'Amérique en une nuit"; a wonderful portrait realized by Pedro Ruiz: "La Dérive douce d'un Enfant de Petit-Goâve". Selected films : 10 films will be free to the FOKAL on November 10,11 and 12(143, Ave Christophe, P-au-P) and to the French Institute of Haiti (99, Rue Lamartinière, Bois-Verna) on Novembre 11.
